I’m writing to recommend Vi Wickam for Loveland City Council. I got to know Vi during the years when a divided City Council delayed the Pulse broadband project.
He has balance, a valuable leadership quality in city governance. He considers all sides of an issue on the merits, listening thoughtfully, discussing and weighing ideas in a friendly, open manner.
Vi and his wife, Christina, are committed members of our community, personally invested in downtown Loveland – in their property, their businesses, and also culturally. He’s a clear thinker, and an excellent fiddler who shares his musical talents and sense of fun. Their investments in Loveland inform him about everyday issues: sidewalks, maintenance, approval processes, budget allocations, the need for more responsive government – and also the pleasure of living here.
Vi understands the importance of a long-term vision for our city. He’s positive and thoughtful, and will act on the right ideas, manage them over time, and help make them happen. He will pay attention to planning for the future.
Our present City Council often takes far too long to reach even obvious decisions. There’s too much polarization and disrespect. Leadership and oversight have been inadequate amidst the grandstanding and sniping. Incredibly, the Mayor is suing another Councilor, and the City’s insurance will pay for the defense. And recently the national Republican party has used paid political advertising to intrude into our municipal governance, which is non-partisan by design.
It’s time for a constructive new generation of Loveland leadership. Vi Wickam is a Colorado native, educated, energetic, invested in our community. He can help Loveland work better. Vote for Vi.

Vi Wickam truly cares about this community
I’ve worked with Vi Wickam for the past nine years. Anytime I ask him if something is possible he always responds with, “Anything is possible.” Vi is someone who thinks big, he doesn’t limit himself or others. He’s forward thinking, willing to roll up his sleeves and help, and is easy (and fun!) to work with.
I’m a Loveland native, and when I heard Vi was running, I was so thankful. Our city would greatly benefit from his knowledge, ideas, small business expertise, and his genuine interest in and passion for Loveland.
A few weeks ago we took our dogs for a walk around downtown Loveland where I live. We ran into a couple of homeless people who knew Vi by name because he and his wife Christina volunteer at the Community Kitchen. Not only did they know Vi’s name, he remembered theirs. And greeted them with handshakes and hugs, asked how they’re doing and gave some advice. He listens. He truly cares about this community and that is why I strongly recommend Vi Wickam for Loveland City Council.

Vi Wickam is a leader
With humor, I observe the city elections. One candidate is going to unite our city after eight years as an active participant in the chaos and infantile behavior? Leadership comes from intelligent reasoning, unbiased appraisal, and valuing both sides of any discussion. Not from political affiliation or positional power.
I am endorsing Vi Wickam for the Ward III council seat. I got to know Vi during our work to bring Pulse to Loveland. Amidst the obfuscation and silly arguments of the council’s decision process, Vi listened to all sides of an issue, discussed opinions, and weighed others’ ideas in a friendly, open constructive manner.
Vi has an abundance of common sense and infectious positive energy. He will pay attention to planning for the future while recognizing the importance of effective day-to-day governance. Most importantly, his consideration of others and his kindness will help bring our council together.
He and his wife, Christina, both talented and intelligent people, are deeply committed to Loveland. As small business owners, they have an experiential understanding of conducting business in Loveland.
Vi has demonstrated the qualities of a leader, we need more people like Vi guiding our city. Electing him is a great start.

Dear members of Loveland Ward 3,
I would like to recommend my son, Vi Wickam for City council in Loveland. Vi has a sincere interest in the wellbeing of the people of Loveland. As a small business owner, he knows the realities of living and working in Downtown Loveland. He has been active in the Downtown business association in Loveland for several years. An excellent communicator and political moderate, his goal is to bring agreement and unity to the city council, enabling them to go forward and serve the people of this community. A visionary for the future of Loveland, Vi has the enthusiasm and energy the city needs.
Vi also has an abundance of common sense, and is quite able to see the whole picture when it comes to decision making. He is impeccably honest and sincere in both his personal and business dealings. I know he will be a trustworthy candidate for his position as city council member. He is a positive force for the good of your city. Vote for Vi.

Why not vote for Vi Wickam? He is a good candidate. A well-rounded individual and well educated. He’s been in business partnerships — gets along well with others. Open minded and caring toward others. I enjoy reading and agree with other personal references, including his mom! Vi is from a four-generation NoCo family and knows about local concerns. You can’t go wrong with a vote for Vi.

Vi Wickam believes in doing what’s best
I am writing today to show my support of a fellow Coloradan who believes in doing what’s best for his community.
I have known Vi Wickam since 2018, in which time we have had many discussions regarding the state of the world and how we can help make it a better place. I appreciate Vi’s “middle-of-the-road” approach to life. He understands that we all come from different life experiences and has a desire to understand all perspectives.
This is why I believe the Vi Wickam would be an excellent asset to the Loveland City Council. Vote for Vi!

I am honored to endorse Vi Wickam for Loveland City Council. In a political environment where all too many participants have little or no ethics or integrity, I’m pleased to support a candidate who does.
I got to know Vi working with and on the late Michael Riversong’s Tesla Academy (www.facebook.com/NikolaTeslaAcademy) that teaches kids and the lay public the science, technology, philosophy, and ethics of Nikola Tesla. Like Tesla, Vi understands the importance of applying logic, ethics, and integrity to science and technology . . . indeed to all endeavors . . . and to use his intellect, talents, education, and experience for the betterment of humanity, rather than for wealth, power, fame, or ego.
Vi is both a brilliant computer engineer and a talented musician, a beautiful balance of science and art, reason and passion, head and heart. Since he and his wife Christina live and work in a building they own in downtown Loveland, they are deeply invested in the soul of our community. I believe he will serve us all very well on the Loveland City Council!

As new residents to Colorado, we couldn't be more excited about the prospect of Vi Wickam for Loveland City Council. As an owner of many local small businesses, there's not a better candidate to help Loveland bounce back after the recent shut-downs and the closings of small businesses all over Colorado.
Having worked directly with Vi has allowed me to get to know him. He's forward-thinking, innovative, patient, an excellent problem solver, and truly cares. He is someone who wants equality, fairness, and opportunities for all to not just survive but thrive.
